Alyssa: This weekend was a long weekend of us Melbournians (Labour day) so I took the opportunity to come up to Sydney whilst poor Yung was not impress with having to spend his long weekend at a work conference in Perth. Coming back to Sydney is always a treat as I got to spend some quality time catching up with family and friends. My niece Emily's 3rd birthday party happen to be held on the same Sunday as my girly get together so it was a bit of a rush-rush attending a kids' party in the morning followed by the adult version that evening at Cindy's waterview pad in Kirribilli.

My get together with the girls usually involves a lot of grazing and alcohol fuelled girly banter. Our awe-inspiring chef Angela created a sumptuous 3 course dinner for the girls to enjoy including scallops and peach and blue cheese salad for entrees and custard garlic with aubergine for mains (excuse my layman description of the exquisite food). For desserts, we had panna cotta with baked cinnamon apples and Pat n' Stick ice cream sandwiches personally delivered by the celebrity himself - Stick. Us girls gave Stick a practice run of what it will be like when he's famous with a paparazzi welcoming of flashing cameras and crazed pubescent screeches! The night went by too quickly with lot of fun girly chatter, consuming yummy bottles of wine and of course the great food to gush about. Unfortunately, we had to wrap up early (11pm) so that the Sydneysiders could get some rest for work the next day. Thanks again Cindy for hosting the fab dinner at your gorgeous pad - we're all envious! And Angela, I'm your number one food fan!! More photos of our girly dinner here.

Fun, fun, fun!
That was a great night - thank you, girls.
For the record, we had:
- seared scallops with anchovy mayonnaise
- peach and bacon salad with blue cheese dressing
- roasted garlic and aubergine custards with red pepper dressing
- panna cotta, cinnamon apples, and Pat and Stick's Vanilla Lace ice cream sandwiches
... preceded by an amazing antipasto spread and accompanied by some very delectable varieties of plonk. Yummo!
Thanks for the offical menu Angela - I knew the description of your food in my post didn't do it justice!
