grand prix season

Alyssa: Our apartment was fully booked out during the week of the grand prix. Cindy, Brendan and their daughter Libby (Elizabeth) stayed with us during the week leading up to the grand prix followed by Amy and Andrew over the weekend of the grand prix. Despite living in Melbourne for over 2 years now, we still haven't been to this event.

Is that Mark Webber in my apartment??

Cindy's 5 month old daughter Libby gave us a practice run of what it would be like to look after a baby 24/7. She was a model baby though, we hardly heard her cry and every time she fusses, we couldn't help but pick her up because she was just so adorable! It was great that we were able to catch up with Cindy and her family.

Andrew and Amy's visit provided us with the perfect excuse to explore more of Melbourne's eatery scene and what better way to enjoy fine dining than in the company of good friends. We tried out Interlude, a french restaurant with some interesting degustation menus. As our booking was at 8pm , we only had time to sample the 10 course degustation menu and not the 15 course which was a blessing in disguise because it took nearly 4 hours for all the food to come out. Whilst the various sample dishes were interesting, we didn't find it that spectacular. And since the serving was, well, sample size, Yung was tempted to top off the experience by stopping by a 24 hour McDonalds after dinner. Some of the more interesting dishes included rosemary ice cream, marshmallow curry, and a vial of caviar mixed with green tea!

curry marshmallow with whiting; mackerel with a lump of....

We chose a totally contrasting dining experience the following night with buffet at the Langham Hotel. With all you can eat crayfish, oysters, peking duck style pancakes, and other scrumptious dishes on offer, we let loose on all cravings, diets and suppressed gluttony. If only everyday could be a feasting day.

She is very, very gorgeous, and she's the same age as your Stefan. Maybe you and Cindy can arrange a play date - start 'em early!
