Alyssa: Happy new year everyone! We haven't set any new year resolutions for 2009, nor have we done anything to celebrate new years eve. Instead, Yung got busy building a vegie patch in the backyard and spent most of new years eve planting herbs and vegies on my behalf. Our neighbours who had guests over their place for the occasion were probably not impressed with having to smell fertiliser during the countdown to 2009!
I ended up transferring some of the herbs and plants from my planter box to the vegie patch (which included seven (!) chilli trees and 2 tomato vines) to give them more room to grow. Most of my plants are thriving except for those that Matty has either uprooted or plucked all the leaves off!
Matty turned 18 months in the new year and his tantrum antics have definitely stepped up a few notches. He can produce tears within seconds accompanied by deafening high pitch screeches and fast motion arm and leg movements to make you think twice about taking him out in public. I think my worst nightmare would be if I had to deal with his hyperactivity and temper tantrums within a confined space in public, such as on an 8 hour flight. I'll probably need therapy afterwards! So as you can imagine, there will be no overseas trip planned in the near future with the little man.
