Yung: Bula from Fiji! Courtesy of the GE High Flyers Club, Alyssa and I were treated to a 4 day paradise escape to Fiji last week. It was a great short break, and GE really went out of its way to make the experience a great one for the invitees. We were treated somewhat like royalty...from gifts to fancy dinners, shows to day tours, even if chartering a private cruise wasn't enough...try reserving a whole private island for the day!
Having been to Fiji previously, we didn't do too much this time round. Spending time in the pool and soaking up the warm sun was a welcoming enough distraction from the contrasting Melbourne weather! It was a pity though that the resort (Shangri-la) we stayed in turned out to be disappointing. Comparing it to the Sheraton we stayed in last time we were in Fiji, the Shangri-la had some serious issues....the staff lacked morale (there was seriously no Bulas in the Bulas)...the buffet breakfast was totally unacceptable, the spa facilities shocking etc etc. I guess the photo below sums it up....now can someone please explain to me the hygiene theory behind this chef's handling of the food ??

Gee, sounds like fun. But Alyssa, you don't look very happy with your sausage..
Believe me, if the variety of food was any better, I sure wouldn't be eating a hot dog for lunch! Besides, one look at the chef's handling of the food leaves little to be desired!
Damn! I wish I was in Fiji right now! Its been raining practically everyday for a whole month! Seriously - is it possible for it to continue?? Fiji looks heavenly right now!
