CHRISTMAS 2005
We spent three days in Sydney celebrating Christmas with our family. The traditional Christmas turkey and fruit cake pudding were replaced with steam boat for the Huynh's family celebration whilst on the Ngo's side, Christmas was celebrated with a feast of Chinese chilli crabs, chilli clams, sashimi and some Vietnamese delicacies from Hue. For entertainment, the kids enjoyed a few rounds of pass the parcel for about 8 minutes before losing interest and throwing tantrums (which is not a bad attention spand for a bunch of 2-3 year olds!). Sandra made a pinata for the kids to smack - however,it took several adults and a few kicking moves to finally break the thing! The kids (and adults) loved it nevertheless. The adults also had their fun with a few rounds of card games, and the inaugural girls' vs boys annual Taboo show down. Too bad we lost to the boys this year - but no doubt the scores will even out next year. The kids got lots and lots of presents as usual and the traditional KK presents for the adults this year was still a surprise for some even though everyone circulated their Christmas wish list way before Christmas! I got from my KK a fantastic food processor set which should now provide me with motivation to actually do some cooking! Yung got from his KK sport binoculars which will be useful for our hiking trips in the near future. It was a really good Christmas catch up for us all given we live in different States (us in Melbourne, Tru & Sandra in Queensland the rest of the Ngo clan and Huynh clan in Sydney).

Wow, sounds like you had a fabulous Christmas also. Yes time definitely flies, and Avila is absolutely huge now! I like checking your blog too, it really does make the distance seem less far... we need to get Angela to start her own blog too! Never know what that girl is up to - and I reckon her blog would be interesting too, she's such a social butterfly! I'll look forward to reading more of your travels this year... it feels like I've been there too! Take care. Happy New Year! XOXOX Mai
I've tried to convince Angela to start a blog - but the poor girl works in I.T and stares at a computer screen all day so I think the last thing she wants to do is spend more time at the computer! Don't worry - I'll try to keep you updated on how our other friends are doing via my blog.
