Waking up on Sunday to the sound of rain was bad news..there goes our chance to finish off the holes we missed the previous day! Despite the rain, the day was not to be written off. We headed out to the Peninsula Hot Springs - one of its kind in Australia. This is a full on relaxation haven for city slickers like ourselves. Here you can take a dip in the natural outdoor hot springs..some 40 degrees of pure mineral water. As dubious as it sounds submerging yourself in a pool full of bubbles and smelly sulfur odour water (yes you have to question whether other natural ingredients have been released in the water by the person beside you)- but if you don't think about that possibility, it is actually quite a very relaxing experience. Probably not as wonderful as the Japanese Onsens, but probably the closest thing you can get in Australia. Our relaxation didn't stop there, it was only the start. We booked ourselves in for a pampering package including aromatherapy spa and full body exfoliating and massage in a steam room...yes, both treatments were conducted in steam room - how cool (I mean hot)was that? Any more pampering, we would have fell asleep..so after a few hours at Peninsular Hot Springs - we headed back to Melbourne and back to reality.

Cape Schanck Getaway
Yung: The Mornington Peninsula was a perfect backdrop for a weekend of relaxation and revitalisation. First stop was the Cape Schanck Golf Resort. We arrived on time for a great lunch followed by twilight golf (you pay $22 after 1.30pm and play as many holes as you can before dark). We managed to finish 12 holes before the darkness and cold winds forced us to make a quick dash in our golf cart back to the club house (that in itself was a fun joy ride !!). The course is well designed with some unforgiving fast greens, long par 5s, good water obstacles and superb ocean views on some of the back holes. The strong winds from the ocean also made some par 3 holes very challenging indeed. After a hearty dinner in front of a warm fireplace, we retired back into our ocean lodge for a good nights sleep.
